This was an amazing sight, returning from an appointment with the Elders we saw these strange lights in the night sky.

We were able to follow the trail of lights ascending up from the horizon to a Buddhist Wat where they were filling these canvas balloon with hot air from a fire on the ground. Each balloon had a wire basket filled witha mixture of raw cotton and diesl fuel that carries the ballon to over a 1000 feet into the sky.
